Building the Peninsula

Located in Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula, Hillview Quarries has supplied superior brown and grey granite for projects for more than 50 years.

Our stone is used by local, state and federal government for critical infrastructure, and is the bedrock of projects, developments and landscaping for private contractors, retail garden supply outlets and the public.

About Us

Hillview Quarries was formed in 1968, by investor, entrepreneur, surveyor, engineer and quarry owner Roy Everard Ross. Ross amassed his fortune across a range of sectors, including quarrying and, on his death in 1970, his will established the R E Ross Trust, a perpetual charitable trust including a portfolio of assets including shares, property and Hillview Quarries.

For more than 50 years, we have continued our operations at Dromana, with all net profits from the quarry directed to charitable purposes to benefit vulnerable Victorians.

It is a unique arrangement that has seen millions of dollars directed to charities, educational and environmental projects, human rights and social justice work, as well as to initiatives that support local communities and schools on the Mornington Peninsula.
